Xbox Avatars are going away. Microsoft is discontinuing the Avatar Editor app. This is happening because of "low engagement". Many people simply forgot about them. Current Xbox Avatars are being discontinued from Xbox and PC by 2025. But the original Xbox Avatars will remain. They are still usable in supported Xbox 360 games.

The Avatar Editor app will be discontinued and no longer be available starting on January 9, 2025. Microsoft says this is due to low engagement. They are shifting their focus to other player experiences. But you can still personalize your gaming experience. Use dynamic backgrounds and profile colors on Xbox consoles. Also, you can use Xbox Original Avatars. These options are available on Xbox consoles and PCs.

What Happened to Xbox Avatars?
